73-year-old man in serious condition after falling from his roof in La Manga

Neighbours saw him rush into the inner courtyard of a house while he was manipulating the TV aerial.

A man had to be rescued by the fire brigade and treated and taken to hospital by the emergency medical services

after being seriously injured after accidentally falling to the ground from the roof of his house, a terraced house in La Manga del Mar Menor.

At 10.45 a.m., 112 received a call from neighbours who had seen him fall from the roof of his house, where he was apparently manipulating the TV aerial, into the interior courtyard of a neighbouring house. Patrols of the Local Police, firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) and the City of Cartagena and a Mobile Emergency Unit (UME) with medical staff from the Emergency and Health Emergency Management 061 were mobilised to the scene.

Once rescued by the firemen and stabilised by the medical staff, he was taken to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, given the seriousness of his injuries.
