The new emergency room of the health centre of Macael starts to provide service, once the enlargement works of these facilities have been completed. It is a 1,600 square metre building which has tripled the previous space and which, in addition to the new Emergency Area, has a Nursing area, a Dental area and an area for Drug Dependency. The Minor Surgery area has a consultation room, a treatment room and a completely independent waiting area. In addition, a Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy service has been set up with a Rehabilitation room, Electrotherapy room, changing rooms and toilets for patients and professionals.
The tour of the new facilities was also attended by the managing director of the North Almeria Health Management Area, José Miguel Medina, together with AGSNA professionals in the region.
The delegate of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, and the mayor of Macael, Raúl Martínez, have checked the extension that tomorrow will be in service for the residents of Macael and Laroya. The Health Delegation highlighted “the importance of institutional collaboration to carry out projects demanded by the residents, such as this new centre, which has received investment from the Andalusian Government, the Macael Town Council and the Almeria Provincial Council”.
For his part, the mayor of this town in the Comarca del Almanzora said that “the residents of this region and in particular those of my town have been demanding this action which is now a reality thanks to the coordination between administrations”. He stressed that “this is good news for this municipality, which will have a new emergency service and will avoid having to travel to other towns”.
