Architects from all over Europe get to know Murcia’s unique buildings

The councillor for Town Planning and Ecological Transition, Andrés Guerrero, this afternoon accompanied the participants in the XI Iberian DOCOMOMO Congress which is being held these days in Murcia under the title ‘Architecture and the environment: the Mediterranean’ and which is organised by the Official College of Architects and the Iberian Docomomo Foundation.

The attendees have been able to get to know different unique buildings of the municipality such as the Cathedral, the annex building of the Town Hall, the Visitor Centre of the Wall of Murcia, Los Molinos del Río and the Hispania Building.

Docomomo is an international organisation created in 1990 with the aim of inventorying, disseminating and protecting the most outstanding examples of Modern Movement architecture. In 1993 the subsidiary Docomomo Ibérico was created which, together with various entities and institutions, works in Spain and Portugal with the same objectives as Docomomo.
