The US multinational Pfizer, renowned for having developed one of the vaccines against Covid-19, will open an office in the Murcia Science Park, managed by the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO), with the aim of promoting the development of innovation projects, supporting biomedical entrepreneurship initiatives and collaborating with public-private entities in the field of health.
The Regional Minister of Enterprise, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson, Valle Miguélez, said that “this is a highly relevant incorporation for the growth and consolidation of the regional innovation ecosystem”.
“Pfizer’s presence will serve to strengthen business collaborations with health, public-private entities and entrepreneurs, with an enormous capacity for growth in the short and medium term. As for entrepreneurs, one of the most important focuses is centred on the Science Park, which already hosts more than fifteen companies with great scientific-technological research value,” he added.
The multinational pharmaceutical company is very active in translational collaboration and also collaborates with the private medical sector (Vithas, Asisa, Sedisa, etc.). The company reinforces its commitment in the places where it operates with communication channels to promote scientific and technological progress in society.
The Murcia Science Park, located on the Espinardo university campus, offers a wide range of services to the 15 companies that belong to different productive sectors and actively work in the search for technological solutions. It also houses the Isaac Peral Foundation and the Technological Centre for Information and Communication Technologies of the Region of Murcia (Centic).
