Arrecife Resto-Bar, a restaurant in Águilas, has been the winner of the I Campeonato Profesional de Marineras Alicante Gastronómica, which has promoted this championship coinciding with the presence of the Region of Murcia as guest region and Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2021, betting on one of the most recognized tapas of Murcian gastronomy. The jury, chaired by Rafael García Santos, and made up of chefs of the stature of Susi Díaz , Oscar Velasco , Ferdinando Bernardi , Salva Linares , Noelia Pascual Cachito, chose their elaboration from among the seafood dishes presented by the 10 finalists. They had half an hour to prepare their marineras in front of the members of the panel of judges. For the preparation of the marineras, each of the participants brought the ingredients that characterise their preparations.
Each of them made between 8 and 10 marineras for tasting by the jury, as well as for presentation to the public.
