1 Oct. Emergency services have extinguished the fire in a shoe industry located in the industrial area of La Hoya in Lorca, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Centre consulted by Europa Press.

The Emergency Coordination Centre 1-1-2 Region of Murcia has received a dozen calls from 15.39 hours reporting the fire declared inside some industrial buildings of a footwear industry located in the industrial area of La Hoya de Lorca.

The callers reported that there were no people trapped inside and that the fire had broken out in the part of the building where the solvents and polyester were located.

Local police officers from Lorca City Council and firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia belonging to the Lorca fire station were on the scene.

Specifically, a total of nine firefighters and a sergeant in command attended the scene along with six extinguishing vehicles (a headquarters vehicle, a heavy self-propelled fire fighting vehicle and an armoured vehicle).

At 16.06 hours, the sergeant reported that the fire was under control and the extinguishing work continued. At 16.35 hours, the sergeant said that the fire was extinguished, so all the firefighters returned to the park.
