Almeria Provincial Council promotes the programme ‘Almeria, Youth Employment against depopulation’.

The Member of Parliament Carmen Navarro participates in the presentation of the Europe in a Click training course for entrepreneurs in small municipalities

The Provincial Council continues to promote one of its most successful programmes for job creation in the smallest municipalities: ‘Almería, youth employment against depopulation’. The beneficiaries of this programme, young people under 30 years of age, have been able to attend a training day to consolidate and disseminate their business model in the online world under the title ‘Digitalise your business. Europe at a click’.

This is a complementary action within this initiative that is bearing great fruit since, thanks to it, many young people in the province are materialising their business projects. Almeria. Youth Employment against Depopulation’ is one of the most important proposals in the fight against depopulation promoted by the Provincial Council, financed by the European Social Fund (EMP-POEJ Aid), is based on three main lines of action: Training for entrepreneurship, Promotion of self-employment and Promotion of social economy.

The profile of the beneficiaries of these training actions are young people between 16 and 29 years old, registered in the National Youth Guarantee System, who reside or will reside in municipalities of less than 5,000 inhabitants or the towns of Carboneras, Mojácar, Macael, Olula del Río or Vélez-Rubio.

The Deputy for European Initiatives and Employment, Carmen Navarro, explained that this conference has been «an opportunity to discuss the future of business in Europe and the formulas for the participation of young entrepreneurs from municipalities at risk of depopulation. Digital resources have been highlighted to ‘open at a click’ business projects to Europe under a responsible and sustainable strategy».

In addition, the deputy added that «this measure responds to the impetus that the Provincial Council is giving to this programme, the result of which, for the moment, is proving to be a great success. The young people who are part of it are seeing all the possibilities that Europe offers them and different strategies to develop their business ideas in the municipalities in which they were born or in which they want to settle. This programme equalises opportunities and helps us to settle the population, two of the most important objectives of the Provincial Institution».

The following people took part in the conference: the team from the Special Delegation for Employment, Economic Promotion, European Initiatives, Trade and Enterprise; Oscar Palomino Gual, expert in employment guidance and HR. Manager of Grupo Innova, and Araceli García, consultant in Social Responsibility and professional organiser of events in Grupo GM Consultoría Empresarial, S.L.

The nearly thirty students who participated in this training action, which took place in the Plenary Hall of the Provincial Palace, had the opportunity to debate and reflect on Europe and entrepreneurship, the channels of participation of the European Union, the digital economy: ‘Europe at a click’, and Corporate Social Responsibility: a strategy for growth’. In addition, entrepreneurs were offered the possibility of personalised tutorials of up to four hours’ duration for the digitisation of their businesses.
