The Guardia Civil of Almeria supports the solidarity sporting challenge “Elige Vivir” organised by the association D’genes, which works to create spaces for exchange and coexistence between family members and people diagnosed with Rare Diseases (RD), and to raise awareness of the public health problems caused by low prevalence diseases.
In this solidarity challenge, Javier Carnero and Paco Nirvana will run the 240 kilometres that separate the Cabo de Gata lighthouse from the Cartagena lighthouse in Murcia, an initiative that aims to give visibility to people with rare diseases and in which the Almeria Command will provide occasional support along the route through the province.
The race is divided into four stages, starting from Cabo de Gata on 9 October, passing through Mojácar, and then entering the Region of Murcia via Águilas, until reaching Mazarrón, where the last stage will start and finish in Cartagena on 12 October.
All those who want to follow this solidarity challenge and accompany Paco and Javier virtually on this journey can do so by uploading a photo to social networks with the hashtag #yoelijovivircorriendopordgenes, showing support for this sporting feat full of solidarity with people with rare diseases.
The Guardia Civil Command in Almeria carries out a permanent task in the field of CSR by supporting different initiatives to support vulnerable or disadvantaged groups.
