The Guardia Civil, in a recently completed operation, has arrested two men aged 31 and 18, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence committed in mid-August in the municipality of Pulpí. Both individuals had numerous criminal records and search warrants from courts in several provinces.
This arrest is part of the activities carried out by the Guardia Civil during the citizen security services in the west of Almeria to prevent and avoid robberies, and thus provide a rapid response to criminal acts committed in this area.
The investigation began on 14 August when the victim reported to the police that he had been robbed while walking along the promenade of San Juan de los Terreros, a district belonging to the municipality of Pulpí, between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. The victim, a 26 year old man, had been robbed in the early hours of the morning.
The victim, a 26 year old male, was approached by two individuals who hit him on the jaw and, with one jerk, stole a shoulder bag, where he kept his mobile phone and his house keys.
As a result of the assault, the victim had to be treated at the Hospital de la Inmaculada de Huércal-Overa for injuries to her jaw and hand.
In his statement, the complainant provided physical details of the assailants, who acted with their faces uncovered, which allowed the Guardia Civil to carry out a photographic recognition report. The victim identified and fully and unequivocally recognised the perpetrators, who, as the agents were able to verify, had numerous previous convictions for similar criminal acts, as well as search warrants from the courts of Huércal-Overa and Lorca for more than a year.
Following the information obtained from the facts, the Guardia Civil agents initiated a device to locate the perpetrators, who were unaccounted for. During the course of the investigation, the agents carried out intensive investigations and interviews with possible witnesses, which together with the testimony provided by the victim, resulted in the arrest of the two men as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence.
The proceedings, together with the detainees, have been handed over to the Juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción number 2 of Huércal-Overa.
