88-year-old woman drowned on a Torrevieja beach

An 88-year-old woman died on Wednesday on a beach in Torrevieja (Alicante), according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU).

The events occurred at around 13.55 hours, when the CICU was alerted that people had pulled an unconscious woman out of the water on the beach of El Acequión in Torrevieja.

A SAMU unit was mobilised to the scene, whose medical team was only able to confirm the death of the 88-year-old woman, and the autopsy will reveal the cause of drowning.
