Next Friday 8th October will begin the Fiestas del Caldero de Los Alcázares which are held in commemoration of the Municipal Independence, achieved on the 13th October 1983, when the municipality of Los Alcázares separated from the municipalities of San Javier and Torre Pacheco.
A festivity which, after two years of hiatus as a result of the current pandemic and the DANA suffered in 2019, will begin with a proclamation by the Mayor of Los Alcázares at 22:00 hours in the Town Hall Square.
The opening ceremony will be followed by the 500 nights concert ‘Sabina en las venas’. 19 días y 500 noches’, ‘Y sin embargo’, ‘Princesa’, ‘Contigo’, ‘Y nos dieron las diez’, ‘Peces de ciudad’, ‘Pirata cojo’ or ‘Pacto entre caballeros’ will be some of the songs that will be heard in this spectacular musical tribute to one of the best Spanish lyricists of all time: Joaquín Sabina.
A festive programme for all audiences
Despite the difficult situation we are still going through as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Town Hall of Los Alcázares has prepared an extensive programme with activities for all audiences. Residents, visitors and tourists will be able to enjoy performances such as Funambulista, tributes to Mecano, Joaquín Sabina, Raphael and Camilo Sesto; the first gastronomic days with local restaurants and bars; cultural, family and senior trips; world-class sports events and other activities for young people and children.
In addition, the traditional Alkazar Award will be held, which this year will revolve around the Mar Menor, and will end with a live performance by Nunatak and the song ‘Sol y Sal’. A single that has become the anthem for the defence of the lagoon.
