On 6 October, at the Ordinary Assembly held in the Mancomunidad de Municipios del Almanzora, several mayors expressed the discomfort of their neighbours due to the cut in regular public transport services in the province of Almeria, which directly affects towns in the area.
The mayors asked the president of the organisation, Antonio Ramón Salas, on behalf of the affected municipalities, to convey the situation to those in charge of the Junta de Andalucía with the aim of regularising frequencies and re-establishing the services that existed before the health alert was declared.
For this reason and due to the importance of public transport for the residents of the Almanzora region, this Friday morning the president of the Mancomunidad travelled to the city of Almeria to meet with the Territorial Delegate of Development, Infrastructure, Land Management, Culture and Historical Heritage in Almeria, Eloisa Cabrera.
The president of the Mancomunidad, Antonio Ramón Salas, described the meeting as “very satisfactory, as the Delegate assured me that when the province of Almería is at level 0 risk for COVID-19 – as are almost all the other provinces of Andalusia – all the regular public transport services that existed before the pandemic will be re-established”.
