A competition that attracts dozens of experienced painters from all over the country is back.
The City Council organises this Sunday the XXVI Outdoor Painting Competition
The prizes, ranging from 300 to 1500 euros, will be awarded on Sunday at 20:00 pm on the pedestrian walkway over the Rambla de Nogalte
The Department of Culture of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has organized the XXVI edition of the National Outdoor Painting Competition “Corners of Puerto Lumbreras” to be held on Sunday 10 October, coinciding with the celebration of the Patron Saint Festivities.
This competition is open to anyone of legal age who wishes to take part. The registration and stamping of the canvases and supports chosen by the artists will take place on the same day of the contest, in the Cultural Centre Casa de los Duendes from 08.30 to 12.00 hours.
Thus, the size of the work will be a minimum of 50 cm and a maximum of 150 cm, on any of its sides. The support will be provided by the author, it can be white or in colour without texturing, and the works can be made in any technique (oil, watercolour, acrylic, collage). The supports must be rigid and be provided with a means of attachment so that they can be exhibited.
The delivery of the finished works will take place between 17.00 and 18.00 on Sunday at the Pasarela, where the jury will award a first prize of 1,500 euros from the City Council; second prize of 750 euros from the company Caudal Extruline Systems; third prize of 550 euros from Orbitalia; and a Local prize of 400 euros from the City Council (for residents of the city). In addition, three runners-up prizes were awarded by Plantiagro, Barberet&Blanc and the Alimer Foundation with 500, 450 and 300 euros respectively.
The jury’s decision will be made public on the pedestrian walkway over the Rambla de Nogalte on the same day at 20.00 hours, and the winning works, signed by their authors, will become the property of the sponsors.
All the works participating in the competition will be exhibited on the day of the competition at the Pasarela, and once the prizes have been awarded, they can be visited throughout the month of October in the exhibition hall of the Centro Cultural Casa de los Duendes.
The Councillor for Culture; Juan Ruben Burrueco, has encouraged fans of the world of painting to sign up for this contest “in which each year reflect the beauty of Puerto Lumbreras experienced painters from different parts of the Spanish geography, which make quality works in oil or watercolor in a very short time, which gives the contest an even greater spectacular if possible.
