– The perpetrators always used the same modus operandi, which consisted of cutting the chain or padlock securing the bicycle with a bolt cutter and leaving the garages without attracting attention.
– Following the investigation, the agents recovered a total of 6 complete bicycles and 107 parts.

The Guardia Civil of Almeria, in a recent action, arrested 8 people as perpetrators of theft of high-end bicycles in the town of Aguadulce (Roquetas de Mar – Almeria) and recovered part of the stolen property.
This action is part of the permanent work carried out by the Guardia Civil in the province of Almeria for the prevention and investigation of crimes against property.
The officers noticed that during the summer of this year (June-August) there was an unusual increase in the thefts of bicycles of great value from communal garages in Aguadulce and the surrounding area.
The agents begin a thorough investigation by means of which they first determine the modus operandi of the perpetrators, consisting of cutting the chain or padlock that secures the bicycle with a bolt cutter and leaving the garage without attracting attention.
The agents gather evidence and clues that allow them to close in on a group of people, some of them minors, resulting in the arrest of eight people (including six minors) responsible for 19 offences of theft, one of robbery with force and one of receiving stolen goods.
The detainees acknowledged responsibility for the offences, and the officers recovered six complete bicycles and 107 parts.
From the command of the Guardia Civil it is reported that there are still effects that have not been recognised by their legitimate owners and that are exposed in the premises of the Guardia Civil in Roquetas de Mar, even some of them whose owners have not filed a complaint for their theft.
The proceedings together with the detainees are placed at the disposal of the Roquetas de Mar Courts and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
