This coming weekend will take place in Albox, the “II Concentración de Camiones, Clásicos y Aurocaravanas”, as an appetizer for the festivities of All Saints.
This year, pandemic in between, the Association Locos por los Camiones with the collaboration of the Town Hall of Albox, returns to carry out a meeting of multitudinous character where lovers of these vehicles from all over the country participate.
“The rally is open to everyone who wants to spend a weekend with us and enjoy modern trucks, classic trucks, classic cars and motorhomes,” says the president of the Association Locos por los Camiones, Pedro Antonio “El Santísimo”.
There is no doubt that the town will host a large number of participants who will travel to Albox from different parts of our geography such as Castellón, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Murcia, Tomelloso, Albacete, Alicante, Toledo, León, to name but a few of the places of origin, as well as the locals with great tradition and roots in the town and the surrounding area.
From Friday onwards, the reception of lorries will begin at the fairgrounds, where security personnel will be on hand.
On Saturday, between 9am and 2pm, participants will be welcomed and will also be given a bag with gifts provided by the companies that collaborate with the event.
From 2 p.m. onwards, a rice dish for 700 people is planned, which for anyone who wants to come along to taste and join in with these “truck nuts” is priced at an affordable 5 euros a plate, which includes a drink.
At 4 p.m. one of the musical groups that will liven up the weekend, Rumba Kimbao, will open the fire to dance and have a drink in a festive atmosphere, while the little ones have fun in a free bouncy castle set up for the occasion.
At 5 p.m. there will be a demonstration of disassembly, repair and assembly of some types of tyres, by the staff of the company Chema Neumáticos.
Immediately afterwards, at around 7 p.m., live music returns with a performance by Los Vinilos, and at 11 p.m., those attending will be able to enjoy a Heroes del Silencio tribute band.
On Sunday 17 October, at 9.55 a.m., a pitorrada will be held in honour of and in memory of the recently deceased businessman José Gázquez.
“At 10 a.m. there will be two tourist routes, one for trucks and classics, which will leave the rally site, pass through the centre of Albox, take the Molata road to Almanzora and Cantoria, It will return along the same route and go down to the Arboleas roundabout to return by the other entrance of Albox to the Concentration Site, where the vehicles that came from the furthest, the best decorated, the most veteran, the newest, the noisiest, the driver who came from the furthest, the longest driver and the youngest driver will be distinguished”.
The other tourist route will be for the motorhomes, which will start at the same time (10 a.m.) and will go to the Saliente Sanctuary where at 12 noon the priest of the Sanctuary will bless the vehicles.
At 14:00 there will be a free brotherhood meal for all the participants registered in the Rally, with live music, this time by the group “Por un puñado de Tercios” (For a handful of Thirds).
At 4 p.m. there will be a prize-giving ceremony, acknowledgements and the end of the party.
In addition, the organisers have made a tourist train available to anyone who wants to take part, which will travel around different parts of the municipality free of charge.
Undoubtedly, a weekend where everyone who wants to enjoy a different offer can come to Albox where “they are invited and will be well received”.
