The winning projects of the Macael 2021 Awards, which have been presented by the Andalusian Association of Marble Entrepreneurs (AEMA), organiser of the event, represent for the Macael marble industry “a great injection of optimism”. This has been indicated by the president, Jesús Posadas Chinchilla. Despite the health limitations and the economic situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced the postponement of the 2020 edition of the awards, “both the volume of projects and business participation have not been affected, quite the contrary: there are 25 nominations submitted by eight different companies,” said the executive.
The finalists, the result of the decision of the Jury formed by the members of the EEAEMA Board of Directors, are also the result of a complex deliberation since, in addition to the increase in the number of applications, the size, quality and notoriety of the projects, continue to grow year after year. “Our companies have achieved recognition, both nationally and internationally, in the world of architecture, design, interior design and construction, thanks not only to their know-how, but also to their strong commitment to innovation, the use of technology, and the work of marketing and conquering new markets,” said Posadas.
This year’s gala will be attended by around 40 opinion leaders from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. These agents, including architects, designers, installers and construction professionals in general, will come to Spain to participate in a double activity, which will be held during the same week as the awards. On the one hand, an event to promote the Macael Brand will be held at the Alhambra in Granada, the precursor of which took place in 2017 at the MET in New York. On the other hand, the participants will travel to Macael for a reverse trade mission in which, in addition to getting to know the quarries of Macael and its companies, they will hold B2B meetings with those that, being part of the Association of Marble Entrepreneurs of Andalusia, join the initiative. This is “a great commitment to promotion in which we have had the collaboration of the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion – EXTENDA and the Regional Ministry of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration”, said the president of the businessmen, who also insisted on his gratitude to the sponsors of the Macael Awards: “without their invaluable collaboration it would not be possible to hold this great event”.
