Five people have been injured, two of them seriously and the other three less seriously, after being hit by a vehicle that lost control in the town of Torrevieja (Alicante). The driver, who tested positive for drink-driving, has been arrested, sources from the investigation told Europa Press.
The accident occurred at around 04.00 hours this Sunday in the leisure area of the Marina Salinas marina, where the driver of a car lost control and ran over five pedestrians.
Two of the victims have suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital, while the other two have less serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle tested positive for alcohol, according to municipal sources. The man, whose age was not specified, has been arrested.
The local police of Torrevieja are investigating the case as they are the competent body.
