Rain and hail cause power and road outages in the Almanzora region

Oria was one of the municipalities affected by the heavy rains on Friday.

As happens every time it rains, the Almanzora region collapses in every way.

This Friday afternoon the water that fell in the valley caused serious inconveniences, with flooded streets and several areas completely in darkness due to a power cut that in areas of Albox and Arboleas lasted all night.

The machines of the Town Council of Oria and that of the Diputación de Almería have been trying to re-establish the main communication routes since the early hours of Saturday morning, while other work vehicles, owned by residents and businesses in the municipality, have been working to establish communication with the rest of the more localised areas.

Considerable damage to roads in Oria.

The council has asked “those residents who have the means to speed up the situation to get in touch with the local mayors”.

In Olula del Río, “all night we have been receiving calls from neighbours asking for help due to the damage caused by the rain. First thing this morning the passage to La Noria was repaired and our workers are continuing to clean up some parts of the town,” said the town council.
