The Alcóntar Popular Party held its local congress in the Adolfo Suárez Auditorium in Hijate in front of around twenty supporters. Antonio Ramón Salas, mayor of the municipality of Alcóntar, has been re-elected to continue as president of the party at a local level with the aim of continuing to implement policies that will fix the population.
Antonio Ramón Salas has highlighted the importance of the Partido Popular governing in the smaller municipalities because it is the party that best defends the interests of all residents. “We need policies that fight against depopulation in order to continue to strengthen the villages and improve the quality of life of all those who live in them”.
He added that the Next Generation Funds are important for the future of the municipalities. “The Spanish government should listen to the opinions of the other parties in order to implement a funding system that is as fair as possible, taking into account the sensitivities of all the territories.
For his part, the deputy secretary and provincial deputy, José Antonio García, highlighted the figure of the mayor. “Antonio Ramón constantly demands infrastructures and services to improve the quality of life of his neighbours. He is an attentive mayor who makes the municipality grow in wealth and employment. He supports local businesses and facilitates administrative procedures, making them find themselves in the best possible conditions”.
He added that he also applies good policies as president of the Association of Municipalities of Valle del Almanzora. “The Almanzora is a provincial benchmark in many aspects. The efforts of its residents have positioned the region at the top of sectors such as stone and marble. The Mancomunidad is an indispensable element to fix the population in rural areas”.
