In a recent investigation, the Guardia Civil has arrested in Pulpí, a person as the author of a crime of Usurpation of Civil Status and another against Traffic Safety, by impersonating another person during a drug test and driving with a licence withdrawn since 2018.
The investigation began in the middle of last October, when a person complained at the official offices of the Civil Guard about having received a notification of an administrative traffic offence for the presence of drugs in his body, although he had not committed the offence.
During the investigation, the Guardia Civil officers found that the driver of the vehicle was in fact not him, but a former work colleague (whose identity number was very similar) who was driving his father’s vehicle and who was pretending to be him in order to evade police action.
Similarly, the agents, after consulting the DGT databases, noticed that in addition to impersonating him to avoid the administrative offence due to the presence of drugs in his body, he has also had his driving licence withdrawn since 2018.
Therefore, and as a result of the investigations, the Guardia Civil of Almeria arrested a person as the author of a crime of Usurpation of Civil Status and another against Traffic Safety in the municipality of Pulpí.
Both the proceedings and the detainee are placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of the Judicial District of Huercal-Overa.
