After its premiere a few days ago in Almería, last night David Bisbal and the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería (OCAL) once again thrilled the audience with “David Bisbal Filarmónico by Cosentino” at the emblematic Teatro Real in Madrid.
From the very first chord, the audience was completely devoted to the artist from Almería and the talent of the OCAL musicians, conducted by Michael Thomas. Their fusion was once again magical, David Bisbal’s voice and intensity matched perfectly with the sound of the musicians. The singer’s most emblematic songs sounded majestic in philharmonic format, thanks to the arrangements of composer Juan Cruz-Guevara, who has been able to adapt the singer’s Latin pop and ballads to the classical stave. “Esclavo de tus besos”, “Silencio”, “Como la primera vez”, “Camina y ven”, “Mi princesa”, “Culpable”, “Ave María” and “Bulería” are just some of the songs that could be heard last night.
David Bisbal was totally dedicated, emotional and happy throughout the performance. Once again Bisbal returned to the Teatro Real, but “this time it’s special”, he confessed during the first minutes of the concert. Together with the Orchestra of his homeland, in front of his fan club and surrounded by family and friends, David Bisbal shone on stage.
The Orquesta Ciudad de Almería received a standing ovation from the audience. Last night, the OCAL once again demonstrated, under the direction of the prestigious conductor Michael Thomas, its ability to adapt and its merit in broadening its perspective to other genres. His great talent was essential to accompany David and merge in an unprecedented piece of sound.
The concert was divided into three parts, all of them headed by an original composition. Three works by Cruz-Guevara paid tribute to Grupo Cosentino, the company behind “David Bisbal Filarmónico by Cosentino”. This musical initiative was created to reflect some very specific values, linked to Almería and common to both David and the Cosentino Group: effort, the ability to overcome and reinvent oneself, non-conformity and entrepreneurial spirit.
The next dates are the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada on 4 December and the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga on 8 December.
