The municipality of Lúcar hosted this Sunday its first ‘Trail de Cela’, a sporting event that includes three races in the surroundings of this natural water source of the Almanzora.
A long race of 27 kilometres and 1,100 metres of elevation gain. A short race of 15 kilometres and 600 metres of elevation gain. And a 15-kilometre trail.
What was originally the brainchild of one of its neighbours has become a reality, thanks to the support of the Lúcar Town Council and numerous local companies that have committed themselves to sport as a way of revitalising the municipality, and at the same time encouraging the practice of sport.
The race, which has been created with the aim of becoming a benchmark in the north of the province, has the great attraction of the environment through which it runs; the Balsa de Cela and a large part of the Sierra de Las Estancias, one of the most beautiful corners of the Almanzora.
