The municipality of Purchena has officially inaugurated its Monumental Artistic Nativity Scene, the work of the purchenero Carlos Moreno Resina, which is on display in municipal buildings until 6 January.
On this occasion, after the blessing of the parish priest of the municipality, it was the president of the Provincial Council Javier Aureliano Garcia, who toured the exhibition hall of the Town Hall where this work of art is located.
This year the nativity scene designer, Carlos Moreno, has had to redouble his efforts as the Nativity Scene has been inaugurated 15 days earlier than usual. He wanted to take advantage of the presence of various authorities in the town on the occasion of the event commemorating the Day of the Province, and that was the reason for the inauguration of the work on Sunday 28 November.
In the words of the President of the Provincial Council, “we visit many nativity scenes in the province and I can assure you that this is the best in the whole province”.
The President was accompanied by the Deputy for Culture, Manolo Guzmán, and members of the Purchena Town Council, led by the Mayor, Juan Miguel Tortosa.
At the end of the tour, Javier Aureliano García signed the book of honour of the town hall.
