The municipality of Fines has, since yesterday, a first class cultural infrastructure thanks to the investment effort of the Diputación de Almería: the Espacio Escénico ‘Javier Aureliano García’. This meeting point for the residents of the municipality has 160 seats, as well as places for users with reduced mobility.
The President of the Provincial Council and the Mayor of Fines, Rodrigo Sánchez, inaugurated this Friday evening what has become the epicentre of culture in this municipality in the Almanzora region, accompanied by the provincial deputies Fernando Giménez, José Antonio García and Concepción Pérez, councillors from the municipality and the local residents who filled the stalls. The Asociación Musical de Fines was the star of the first performance on its stage.
This action has an investment of half a million euros and is part of the Plan

for Scenic Spaces promoted by the Provincial Institution, which is 100% financed with its own funds.
The new building distributes the 543 square metres of surface area on two floors through a central nave, where the audience seating and the stage are located, which communicates with two adjoining wings, where there are dressing rooms and toilets, guaranteeing accessibility and communication in the different rooms of the building.
The ground floor will have a storage area, access to the stalls, foyer and toilets, while the upper floor will have an entrance and storage area, a control and projection booth and boxes around the perimeter. In total, the new auditorium has more than 170 seats (including those specially designed for people with reduced mobility and/or disabilities).
The President of the Provincial Council was very “excited” to be able to inaugurate this building that will bear his name: “Today opens the doors a meeting point for the residents of Fines, the epicentre of culture in the municipality and, we hope, in the region”.

He also highlighted the commitment of the Provincial Institution to Fines, which, in his opinion, has been demonstrated in recent years: “The transformation of this municipality and the great improvements it has undergone have always had the support of the Provincial Council because you are a municipality that contributes a great deal to the province as a whole. In the Fiestas de Fines of 2019 we will lay the first stone of this building and I am committed not only to complete this work, but also to be at your side, providing it with content. This is how it will be”.
For his part, the Mayor of Fines thanked all the people who have made it possible for this dream of the residents of the municipality to become a reality today: “It was a historical demand of the municipality and thanks to the efforts of the Provincial Council it is now a reality. It has cost the Town Council 102 euros to transform the whole area and build this stage. Thanks to the Provincial Council, thanks to Javier and thanks to Cosentino for the stone they have provided for this work to continue to distinguish the facades of the municipal buildings”.
