The Huércal-Overa Town Hall has presented the cultural programme for Christmas, a programme with which the Magic of Christmas will be experienced and enjoyed by the whole family. The Mayor, Domingo Fernández, and the Councillor for Culture, Belén Martínez, have given all the details of this programme which began with the lighting of the lights last Friday and the launch of the ice rink. The programme includes several new features “thinking especially of the children so that they can enjoy this magical time and illusion in which they have school holidays, no doubt they are great protagonists and this Christmas they have many proposals to enjoy in Huércal-Overa”.
Among the novelties is the pyro-musical show “Christmas Dream” on Thursday 13 December at 20:15h in the Plaza de la Constitución after the end of the Welcome Christmas parade in which the dance schools of the municipality participate. In addition to this show, the Zambombada will take place on Tuesday 28 December in the Plaza de la Constitución and the Children’s Gala on 3 January in the Teatro Villa de Huércal-Overa.
In addition to the new features in this programme, there is a continued commitment to traditions such as the Día de la Empanada on Saturday 11 December, the Jornadas de Patrimonio Inmaterial on the same Saturday 11 December at 19:00 hours in the Theatre and the Encuentro de Cuadrillas Juan de Dios Alcolea on 13 December.
There will also be important events at the Theatre such as BlablaCoche with Pablo Carbonell on Sunday 19 December and the musical Tinkerbell on 26 December. The Santa Claus Corner, the Royal Postmen, Christmas parades and concerts make up this programme in which once again the children will have their own New Year’s Eve on 31 December at 11:30 am in the Plaza de la Constitución.
The Three Wise Men will return once again to Huércal-Overa on the 5th of January, a day on which you can also enjoy a “Giant Three Kings Cake” in the Plaza Mayor. As for the visit of Their Majesties from the East, it will begin at 09:30 hours in the villages and at 16:30 hours will begin the parade through the streets of the town ending in the Plaza de la Constitución where the little ones can give them their wishes.
The Mayor, Domingo Fernandez, invites residents to enjoy the Magic of Christmas in Huercal-Overa to be part of the various activities planned with which it is also intended to encourage and stimulate shopping in the municipality, a municipality that can also travel from the Christmas Train.
