Huércal-Overa Town Council is currently in the process of selecting four young people to participate in an ERASMUS+ youth exchange project called Society Shapes Migrants led by the Turkish organisation Directorate of National Education of Bingöl, in which Turkish, Italian, French and Spanish young people will participate.
Once the project has been approved by the Turkish National Agency in the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme, the four young people selected will form the team that will represent Spain in this European youth mobility project.
The team work will focus during the first months on the preparation of presentations on topics related to immigration and refugees in Europe, which will later be discussed through online conferences with the rest of the teams participating in the programme. In October 2022 the young people will travel to Italy for a youth exchange with the other young people from Turkey, France and Italy participating in the project.
The KA152-Mobility of Young People Project of the ERASMUS+ programme supports organisations and groups of young people to carry out Youth Exchanges, bringing together young people from different countries to exchange and learn outside their formal education system.
The Councillor for European Programmes, Monica Navarro, explained that “through this initiative we give young people from Huércal-Overa the opportunity to meet others from European countries with the same interests as them, to travel around Europe and to improve their English. It is also an unforgettable experience that enriches them personally and professionally”.
The requirements to join the team are to be Spanish nationals or nationals of a member state of the European Union, reside in the province of Almeria, be between 21 and 30 years old and have a B1 level of spoken and written English.
