The word ‘success’ is what best defines the feeling that the 8th ‘Sabores Almería’ Fair has left the heads of the 37 companies that, for one week, have participated in this event. The Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, María Luisa Cruz, described as “historic” an edition in which “the number of days of this market, the number of participating companies, sales and visitors have multiplied” to the exhibitors that occupy the Avenida Federico García Lorca in the section between the streets Obispo Orberá and Dolores Sopeña.
In this sense, the deputy emphasised that the Fair is a boost for the promotion of the province’s agri-food products within the province: “After a year of intense promotion thanks to the ‘Salón de Gourmets’ Fair, outside the province, and the ‘Diego García’ Host Plan in the 103 municipalities, this fair has been a magnificent opportunity for entrepreneurs, without intermediaries, to make themselves known to potential clients in the heart of the capital”.
In this way, Cruz Escudero has highlighted the high level of satisfaction shown by the companies for their participation in the eighth edition of the fair: “They have told us that they are eager to return because in these seven days they have not only increased sales, but they have met new customers and have managed to retain others who had already done so both at the fair and through other distribution channels. In short, they consider it to have been a success”.
María Luisa Cruz recalled that the large number of visitors on the first two days prompted the entrepreneurs and the Provincial Council to extend the opening hours until 9.30 p.m. in order to further increase sales and the number of visits to the exhibitors.
More than 500 references have been on display these days to all visitors at a fair that has been open non-stop from 11am to 9.30pm and which yesterday said goodbye until next year. As a prelude to Christmas, the Market has encouraged the presence of Almerian products in family lunches and dinners.
It is worth highlighting the presence at this fair of companies that traditionally participate in the promotional activities of ‘Sabores Almería’, as well as the incorporation of new ones that have added coffees, confectionery sweets, new distillates such as whisky and brandy, and even gourmet meat products to the range of products of the agri-food brand. In short, the fair has offered everything pantries need to enjoy Christmas.
