The Region of Murcia recorded 561 new cases of coronavirus yesterday. This is the highest number of new positives detected since 30 July, when 629 cases were diagnosed. Currently, the number of active positives stands at 3,983, 315 cases more than the previous day.
The Regional Ministry of Health has reported that of the 561 new cases, 178 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 135 to Cartagena, 20 to Totana, 19 to Torre Pacheco, 17 to La Unión, 16 to Molina de Segura, 15 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 14 to Alcantarilla, 14 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 14 to Jumilla, 13 to Yecla, 10 to San Javier, 9 to Lorca, 8 to Abarán, 7 to Cieza, 7 to Fuente Álamo, 6 to Las Torres de Cotillas, 5 to Águilas, 5 to Beniel, 5 to Santomera, 4 to Los Alcázares, 4 to Alhama, 4 to Mula. The rest are distributed among the other municipalities.
In addition, 3,840 patients are in home isolation, 312 more than the previous day.
As for hospital pressure, it continues to grow daily. On Thursday there were 143 people admitted to hospitals in the region with problems caused by the coronavirus, which is three more than the previous day. Of these patients, 34 are hospitalised in the ICU, two less than yesterday.
Health has also detailed that this Thursday a 52-year-old man died of the coronavirus in Health Area I (West Murcia). This death brings the death toll to 1,776.
On Thursday alone, Health carried out a total of 6,403 tests to detect the virus. Of these, 8.7% showed a positive result.
