Platforms and associations in defence of the Mar Menor met yesterday, Saturday, at the gates of the Town Hall of San Javier to demand a three-year moratorium on urban development in this municipality.
Marisa Maldonado, who is president of the Regional Federation of AMPAS Juan González and a member of the Black Flags collective told us that not applying this measure would mean eliminating the little protection that the lagoon has at the moment.
On the other hand, Pablo Olmos, who is the coordinator of the Murcia local group of Greenpeace, explained that they support the rally to put an end to the aggressions that the ecosystem is suffering.
Around 70 people from groups such as Ecologistas en Acción, Murcia en Bici and Pacto por el Mar Menor, among others, attended the rally.
