Provincial Council of Almería has started the works of the Plan de Fomento de Empleo Agrario 2021/2022 in 87 municipalities and the ELA of Fuente Victoria. The special deputy delegate of the PFEA, Matilde Díaz, and the mayor of Benizalón have visited one of the 238 projects managed by the Provincial Council in the province, in the Fuente de la Higuera neighbourhood.
In this sense, the PFEA, which is an example of institutional collaboration between the Government of Spain, the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación and local councils, this year increases its investment effort to more than 14.8 million euros.
The Provincial Institution has already advanced 60% of the cost of the materials to the municipalities of the province to guarantee the execution of the works. The PFEA materials are financed by the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Government. “As of today we have 238 works underway which are fundamental for the population of the province. Today we have made the first payment of the contribution of materials from both administrations”.
Matilde Díaz has valued the investment effort of the Provincial Council of Almería for a programme that “equalises opportunities, improves our towns and villages and creates employment”. In addition to the contribution made to finance the materials, there are also the management costs: 3 million euros. “Within the 238 projects we are going to improve 25 schools and we are going to have 35 stable employment projects to fight against depopulation. We are going to improve facilities to create hostels, tourist accommodation, promote marketplaces and business incubators.
The management model of the PFEA in Almeria is a benchmark for the facilities it provides to municipalities and workers: “We take care of the administrative management, all the technical management, training and occupational risk prevention and COVID-19, explained the deputy.
The Provincial Council manages a total of 4,783 contracts for 2,813 workers who benefit from 125,901 days’ work throughout the year.
The Plan de Empleo de Fomento Agrario is an example of institutional collaboration between the Diputación Provincial, the State through the SEPE, the Junta de Andalucía and the municipalities of the province of Almería to equalise opportunities and improve the quality of life of all Almerians.
