In Andalusia, the Covid certificate will come into force for leisure and catering in the early hours of Monday morning.

Regional Minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, is satisfied with the resolution.

The Andalusian Regional Minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, said today that «the Covid certificate will come into force for the access of users of indoor areas of hospitality, leisure and recreation establishments at 00:00 hours on 20 December», after the High Court of Justice of Andalusia upheld the request of the Regional Ministry of Health and Families.

Aguirre said he was satisfied with the ruling because «the Covid certificate is a fundamental measure in the fight against the pandemic». He also recalled that «together with the protection of the most vulnerable people, we must focus on prevention in enclosed spaces where there is a greater risk of exposure».

He also thanked the collaboration of the nightlife and catering sector for their involvement in the fight against the virus.

How to obtain the Covid certificate

The Covid certificate can be obtained in several ways: ClicSalud+, the mobile application ‘Salud Andalucía’, through the Ministry of Health and at the health centre or by electronic submission of the application.

To download through ClicSalud+ it is necessary to identify oneself with a digital certificate, DNie or Cl@ve, although recently Clicsalud+ facilitates access to the EU Digital COVID Certificate with a new method of identification with personal data and mobile verification based on the use of personal data. This system, for greater security, requires an access code to be entered on the website and sent to the citizen’s mobile phone (via SMS) to complete the authentication process. Mutual and private individuals must use the specific access for people without an Andalusian health card, which does not require this information for identification. To access, they must use the option for people without an Andalusian health card.

The ‘Salud Andalucía’ App is the institutional reference mobile application for all users of the Andalusian Health Service and is available free of charge from the app markets. On the home screen of the application an advert saying ‘Certificados COVID-19′ will be highlighted, which will make it easier to obtain. The download requires identification with personal data and mobile verification based on the use of personal data.

On the other hand, the certificate can be provided by the citizen care professionals without the need for a medical or nursing consultation. Many of the centres have an appointment for this type of procedure, which can be obtained through ClicSalud+, the App and the telephone number of Salud Responde through the option «Gestiones Administrativas» (Administrative formalities).

QR reader to verify Covid certificates

The Regional Ministry of Health and Families launched on 7 December a new functionality in the ‘Salud Andalucía’ application including a QR code reader through which it is possible to verify the validity of the Covid certificate of the European Union.

The reader checks that the QR we read is correct, i.e. that it exists in the repository of certificates and checks the data for authenticity and expiry. When the application certifies that the data is correct, it returns an ok with the holder’s basic data (name and date of birth) so that the person validating it can check that it corresponds to the identity of the person presenting it. The ok is shown with a big green circle with a positive check inside. If it is not valid, a red circle with a cross in the centre is displayed.
