The Escuela del Mármol (Marble School) of Fines, National Reference Centre (CRN) in Vocational Training in Extractive Industries attached to the Andalusian Employment Service, has participated in the Congress of the Network of National Reference Centres for Vocational Training held on 13 and 14 December in Madrid, organised by the General Secretariat for Training of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
In this meeting, which was attended by three other Andalusian CRNs – the School of Jewellery and the School of Wood, from Cordoba; and the School of Training in Crafts, Restoration and Rehabilitation of Historical, Artistic and Cultural Heritage Albayzín from Granada -, the CRN Escuela del Mármol has participated in three working tables and gave a presentation on its designation as a permanent centre for the accreditation of professional competences.
In addition, the representatives of the school at the congress – its director, Juana Colmenero, the technician in charge of the CRN, Ricardo M. Zúñiga, and the counsellor/trainer Modesta Asensio -, have established contacts with technicians from the Ministry of Education who coordinate all the CRNs in Spain and with other related reference centres for the joint development of projects, as well as exchanging experiences and good practices with the attending entities.
The working tables in which the CRN Escuela del Mármol (Marble School) of Fines has participated have focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, the improvement of the management and performance of the CRNs and the multiannual plans 2023-2026.
On the other hand, the representatives of the CRN Escuela del Mármol explained at the national congress what its designation as a permanent headquarters for the accreditation of professional competences through work experience consists of.
Among other functions, the school will inform interested persons about the assessment and accreditation procedures; it will plan, direct and coordinate the procedure in the centre; it will verify compliance with the requirements demanded of the participants; it will propose the persons who will carry out the functions of assessment and evaluation of the candidates and the person coordinating the procedure in the centre; publish the results of the assessment and, where appropriate, send the assessment reports; resolve any complaints that may be lodged; carry out the administrative processing of the documents arising from the procedure; and file and safeguard the documentation generated in relation to each candidate.
In order to fulfil these functions, the CRN Escuela del Mármol is going to implement four strategies: an information and guidance service, an information campaign on the accreditation procedure that is permanently open, a free access webinar and a study on people without accreditation.
