Agents of the Almeria Traffic Subsector are investigating a person as the author of a crime of reckless driving, after driving more than 30 km in the opposite direction on the A-7 motorway, and another against road safety by giving a result of 0.73 mg/l of exhaled air in the alcohol test.
In a recent action, agents from the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of the Almeria Command who were carrying out their own services were alerted by the C.O.S/C.O.T.A of the Almeria Command that a vehicle was travelling in the wrong direction on the A-7 motorway near the municipality of Antas.
Immediately, the officers moved to the kilometre point 525 in the direction of Murcia, in order to stop the traffic and wait for the vehicle travelling in the opposite direction and avoid possible damage to third parties.
The officers, noticing the arrival of the vehicle, signalled the driver to slow down, at which point they managed to open the driver’s door and bring the car to a complete stop, noticing that the driver was showing signs of drunkenness, for which reason he was subjected to breathalyser tests, giving a result of 0.73mg/l of exhaled air.
The driver faces a possible sentence of imprisonment of up to two and a half years and a driving ban of up to 10 years.
