The president of the Partido Popular of Arboleas, David Prados, has registered a letter at the Arboleas Town Hall requesting the government team of Cristóbal García to build a pétanque court in the town, including changing rooms, so that official competitions can be organised and the Arboleas Petanque Club can be created.
The letter has been presented following the numerous requests that the residents of Arboleas have made in recent months to David Prados. According to the local PP president, “in our municipality there is a great love for this sport, however, those who practice it do not have adequate facilities, but play in an open field next to the school Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, in the light of a street lamp, or opt to go to nearby municipalities”.
David Prados points out that there have been numerous occasions on which the fans of this sport have asked the Town Hall to build an official field equipped to carry out official competitions, however, “they have never been listened to by the mayor”. For this reason, he hopes that on this occasion the Partido Popular’s request will be taken into account, which would mean a boost for sport in Arboleas.
“Our municipality needs the council to invest in sports facilities because the practice of sport is healthy for all residents. It is not acceptable that those who want to play petanque have to go to other towns where they have decent facilities,” he said.
Finally, the president of the PP asks Cristóbal García to look at the management that the mayors of the Popular Party do in municipalities near Arboleas where the residents can enjoy well-kept courts and in perfect condition to practice any sport.
“Arboleas deserves a government team that looks after the interests of all its residents and listens to their demands. From the Partido Popular we will continue to listen to the requests of all Arboleans and we will work so that they become realities and we finally have a municipality to be proud of”, he concludes.
