The Guardia Civil of Almeria, in a recent investigation, has arrested a person in Tabernas as the perpetrator of a crime against public health and another of defrauding the electricity supply, when an indoor marijuana plantation was seized in the house he occupies with his wife and three minor children.
This action is part of the plan developed by the Guardia Civil of Almeria against trafficking, cultivation or processing of narcotic substances in the province.
The investigation began when a patrol of the Guardia Civil, which provides public safety service, noticed the intense smell so characteristic of this type of crop, emanating from a house in the town centre of the municipality of Tabernas.
The agents, in collaboration with Endesa technicians, took measurements in the illegal connection to the electricity network of the occupied house, where the perpetrator lived with his wife and three minor children, and found that the consumption was much higher than usual in a house of these characteristics.
The Guardia Civil of Almeria organised an operation to carry out the corresponding entry and search of the house, where 241 marijuana plants (cannabis Sativa), different tools to optimise the cultivation, 20 light bulbs, 3 a/c appliances, 6 fans, 1 air extractor, 2 humidifiers, 20 ballasts and 1 filter were seized.
Finally, as a result of the investigation, the Guardia Civil of Almeria proceeded to arrest the person responsible for the crop, as the perpetrator of a crime against public health and another of defrauding the electricity supply.
The proceedings carried out by the Guardia Civil together with the detainee, are placed at the disposal of the Juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción Nº.3 de Almería (Court of First Instance and Instruction Nº.3 of Almería).
