For the second consecutive day, the number of daily infections in the region has fallen, with 5,569 cases detected on Wednesday. However, 6 people lost their lives yesterday due to the coronavirus; 5 women and one man aged 71, 82, 86, 87, 89 and 91; three from health area II (Cartagena), two from health area III (Lorca) and one from health area I (Murcia West). This brings the total number of deaths recorded since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,915.
Of the 5,569 new cases, 1,742 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 766 to Cartagena, 405 to Lorca, 303 to Molina de Segura, 178 to Alcantarilla, 165 to Totana, 163 to Torre Pacheco, 130 to Yecla, 104 to Jumilla, 103 to Cieza, 101 to Águilas, 99 to Mazarrón, 94 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 89 to Alhama de Murcia and 80 to San Javier. The rest are spread throughout the other municipalities.
At the moment, 613 people are hospitalised due to Covid-19 in the Region of Murcia, three less than the previous day, 537 on the ward and 76 in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), seven less, 78% of them unvaccinated.
Since the start of the pandemic, 281,194 people have been infected with the coronavirus, and the number of people cured has risen to 236,644. The number of people in home isolation stands at 42,022.
The number of detection tests carried out is 2,268,365 PCR/antigen and 122,919 antibody tests.
