43,700 euros to PFEA works in Taberno that will create 75 jobs.

The territorial delegate for Local Administration visits some of the projects that are underway

The territorial delegate of Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration in Almería, José Luis Delgado, has visited Taberno, to see some of the projects that the Town Council is carrying out under the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme (PFEA), which this year has a contribution of 43,785 euros from the Regional Ministry led by Juan Marín and which will create 75 jobs for local residents.

Delgado has met with the mayor, Antonio Martos, and has highlighted the importance of the PFEA for small municipalities, as it allows them to undertake works that only with their own resources could not and also create jobs among residents, thus combating depopulation. Specifically, as the mayor explained, this year the work will focus on new pavements, the renovation of street lighting, the planting of trees and the channelling of irrigation channels in different areas of the town, as well as the widening of one of its busiest roads. Works which he acknowledged «would have been impossible» to undertake without the support of Juan Marín’s Regional Ministry.

The councillor also highlighted the contribution made through the Stable Employment Plan of the PFEA to provide a new restaurant area to increase with additional services for visitors staying at the guesthouse, which «has also been demanded for a long time». «This type of action with the corresponding funding allows many residents of the village who are seasonal workers to have the opportunity to continue here,» he said.

The delegate has been able to see with the mayor the works being carried out in these facilities that will offer «an additional service» and stressed that they will generate employment not only during the works but also with the economic activity that will be launched.

Delgado has stressed the commitment of this government, and especially of the Vice President, Juan Marín, with the municipalism and the proximity of the Department of Local Government with the mayors of the province of Almería to meet their needs and help them.

Thus, Taberno is one of the municipalities in Almeria that has benefited from a line of subsidies launched in 2021 to strengthen public services of local competence, specifically 3,578 euros that the Consistory has allocated to purchase machinery and necessary equipment.

For Delgado, all of this demonstrates with facts the commitment of the Junta to help local entities given their financing problems. For this reason, he recalled the increase in the Patrica from 2019, which had been frozen for seven years. Specifically, this year Taberno will receive 190,000 euros from the participation in the taxes of the community, a fundamental unconditional fund for local councils, which are the administration closest to the citizen.

In the same way, the delegate of Local Administration has underlined the support that the Regional Ministry provides to the town councils in «exceptional situations», which in 2019 allowed Taberno to receive more than 80,000 euros to alleviate the effects of the DANA that affected the town that year.
