The initiative is made possible thanks to funding from the Public Business Entity ENAIRE of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
This training action focuses on training to improve the employability of people with disabilities.
The Association of People with Disabilities El Saliente will carry out a programme to train 10 unemployed people in the sectors of Cleaning and Cooking. Thanks to this training action, the employability of the participants will be increased. It will take place from 1st February to 29th April, in the facilities of El Saliente in Huércal de Almería, with a total of 10 places available. The syllabus will consist of two blocks, which, in turn, will have a theoretical and a practical part.
The main requirement for participation is to be in possession of a certificate of disability, with a percentage equal to or greater than 33%. The initiative is financed by the Public Business Entity ENAIRE, of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. This training programme is aimed at people with disabilities with a low level of education and professional experience, with the aim of training them and facilitating their integration into the labour market.
The Asociación de Personas con Discapacidad el Saliente has been selected among 11 other national entities, out of the 108 applications submitted to this call.
In a situation like the current one, in which the COVID-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on the social and economic environment, especially on vulnerable groups, ENAIRE is committed to these grants as a mechanism that favours the means and resources necessary to guarantee the maximum development of autonomy and independence, quality of life and integration and inclusion in their personal and professional sphere for people with disabilities.
A total of 10 people with disabilities in the cleaning and cooking sectors will benefit from this training action. The training action consists of an initial theoretical phase to provide the participants with knowledge and then move on to the practical phase to improve their skills and thus facilitate their integration into the labour market.
Commitment to the SDG 2030 and Social Responsibility
A priority for the Association of People with Disabilities El Saliente is equal opportunities and one of the best ways to achieve autonomy, motivation, experience and skills development is through access to employment.
The labour insertion is an important way of personal development, emotional well-being and a full incorporation into society, even more so in a context as complicated as the current one, since in addition to the obstacles that people with disabilities encounter in their incorporation into the labour market, we must add the difficulties that the new normality poses, being vital to strengthen this type of actions to ensure that the most vulnerable people can have more opportunities for their inclusion in the labour market.
This initiative aims to influence the application of values and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 2030. Thus, during the training we will emphasise SDG 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality), with quality training and respect for gender inclusion and subsequently, we will focus on SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities) to reduce the differences, especially in people with disabilities who will participate in it.
