When you can’t win, a draw is not a bad thing. Cantoria 2017 brought a point this Saturday from Málaga where they visited Club Deportivo Rincón de la Victoria.
Cantoria played a good game at the fourth-placed team in the category. Any result could have been given, so the draw could be said to have been the fairest.
The aurinegro came out in the first minute and took the lead with a goal from Miguel Castillejo, but the joy didn’t last long as 6 minutes later Álvaro equalised, after a bad clearance from the visiting defence he took advantage of a good pass from Molina to beat Alberto.
It looked to be a lively first half and so it proved to be, but none of the chances for either team resulted in another goal and so they went in at the break.
In the second half the home team came out better and again Álvaro with a great shot from outside the area, in the 57th minute, beat Alberto who could do nothing.
At this point, Calleja’s team took a step forward and had a great chance from Ricardo that Jokin blocked. A clearance from the corner was cleared off the line and Cristofer, with his spur of the moment, levelled the scores.
There were 20 minutes left in which Cantoria knew how to stay on the pitch, and despite some decisions against the interests of the visitors by the refereeing trio, they managed to get a point from a difficult pitch.
A share of the points for two teams separated by two points in the standings. Match corresponding to matchday 19 of Group 2 of the Andalusian Division of Honour.
Now it’s time to think about next Sunday’s derby at La Cañada.
