The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) opened on Wednesday the self-appointment for the dose that 18 year olds can receive the booster vaccine.

Appointments can be made through ClicSalud+, the Salud Responde app and telephone, or by going to the walk-in points.

This Wednesday, the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) opened the self-appointment for the booster dose against Covid-19 to people born since 2001, i.e. those who are or will be 21 years old. Following the planning announced by the Regional Minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, it will be today, Friday 4, when the possibility of vaccination with the third dose will be extended to the entire population over the age of 18, thus completing the option of receiving this dose for the entire population covered by the strategy.

The booster dose is indicated if five months have passed since the second dose of messenger RNA (Pfizer or Moderna). In addition, three months after the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and three months after vaccination with Janssen. In people who have recently had Covid-19, if they need to receive the booster dose, it is recommended to wait 5 months, but they can receive it after at least one month has passed. In the booster dose, messenger RNA vaccines will be given regardless of the first schedule.

People who have not received their first dose or are awaiting their second dose, if they have had the disease recently, should wait only four weeks, except in the case of children aged five to 11 years, who should wait eight weeks, and in the case of people over 65 years of age, who do not need to wait this four-week waiting period, simply that the person is well and out of isolation.

Appointments can be made through the usual channels: the SAS website via ClicSalud+ http://lajunta.es/2a5ny), the mobile application and the Salud Responde telephone number (955 54 50 60) as well as at your health centre, preferably by telephone.

As for the walk-in vaccination points, more than 90 this week, half of them open in the afternoon, which can be consulted here (https://lajunta.es/3m7y7), people born in 2001 or earlier who are awaiting a booster dose, those who received a dose from Janssen or the AstraZeneca regimen, as well as people aged 12 and over who are awaiting their first dose or are awaiting their second dose, will be able to go from tomorrow. From Friday onwards, all those aged 18 and over will be able to attend.
