The Regional Ministry of Education and Sport has opened the registration period to take part in the exams to obtain the Compulsory Secondary Education Graduate Diploma. Interested parties may submit their applications until 15 February, preferably online through the Permanent Education Portal on the website of the Regional Ministry of Education and Sport (https://lajunta.es/3mpm3). It may also be submitted at the Territorial Delegation of Education of the province in which you wish to take the test.
The tests for obtaining the ESO Graduate Diploma, which will be held simultaneously in all provinces on Saturday 23 April, are a way for those over 18 years of age to gain access to this basic qualification in the education system, which in turn allows them to continue their academic training in the higher levels of Baccalaureate and Vocational Training.
They are also conceived as a second chance for students who left the education system prematurely, as well as for those who were unable to receive training in the past. The Regional Ministry of Education and Sport organises two calls for applications each year.
For the organisation of the tests, which are held in the morning and afternoon, the necessary assessment commissions will be set up to meet the demand. In addition, the Regional Ministry will adopt all the preventive measures recommended by the health authorities by the COVID-19 to ensure that the exams take place with maximum guarantees.
The contents of the exercises are those corresponding to Compulsory Secondary Education for adults and are organised around three areas of knowledge: Scientific-Technological, Social and Communication. In order to obtain the diploma, it is necessary to pass the three exercises, although, in the event of not passing the tests as a whole, the marks of the areas passed will be maintained and will be valid throughout the national territory. In this way, candidates will be able to opt for the Graduate diploma by taking the exams in the areas they have failed in successive examinations.
Likewise, those who have previously studied Compulsory Secondary Education, in the general system or for adults, and have passed certain subjects or areas will be exempt from taking the corresponding tests, in accordance with the established equivalences.
Once the tests of 23 April have been completed, a new period for submitting applications will be opened, from 25 April to 16 May, in order to participate in the second call for applications, which will take place on 25 June 2022.
