The Region of Murcia has counted this Monday a total of 1,696 positive cases of coronavirus – 1,535 less than the same day last week – and seven deaths, according to sources from the Ministry of Health in a statement.
The deceased are four women and three men aged 56, 75, 77, 81, 85, 86 and 89, four of them from health area I (West Murcia), two from area III (Lorca) and one from area VII (East Murcia).
Specifically, of the 1,696 new cases, 477 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 281 to Cartagena, 102 to Lorca, 92 to Molina de Segura, 69 to Cieza, 60 to Alcantarilla, 47 to San Javier, 45 to Águilas, 44 to Yecla, 36 to Torre Pacheco, 36 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 31 to La Unión, 26 to Caravaca de la Cruz and 26 to Mazarrón. The rest are spread throughout the other municipalities.
At the moment, 546 people are hospitalised by Covid-19 in the Region of Murcia, nine more than the previous day. Of these, 79 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU), one less.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 340,946 people have been infected and 2,055 have died, while the number of people cured has risen to 321,088. The number of people currently in home isolation is 17,257, and the number of detection tests carried out has risen to 2,510,659 PCR/antigen and 124,710 antibody tests.
