The Delegation of the Government of the Region has prepared a special security device for the demonstration called this Wednesday in the city of Murcia, in which agricultural organisations will mobilise more than 250 tractors and trucks, sources of the institution reported in a statement.
In this way, the Benemérita aims to ensure the safety and fluidity of traffic escorting all heavy vehicles that will converge at the access to the city centre from the four routes agreed with the representatives of farmers.
One of these routes is the Cartagena/Torre Pacheco/Mar Menor route, which starts with a concentration in Los Martínez del Puerto and whose itinerary is RM-F21, RM-F19, RM-F13, RM-302, Los Dolores de Beniaján and La Fica bridge. Vehicles from Alquerías and Beniel can meet on this route.
The second route is the Valle del Guadalentín, with a concentration at the Las Salinas industrial estate in Alhama de Murcia, and itinerary RM-E10, RM-603, Sangonera la Verde ring road, El Palmar, N-301A, Glorieta de Santa Catalina, Ronda Sur and La Fica. Vehicles originating in Librilla can join from the RM-604 road.
The third route is from the Vega Baja, with a concentration at the Archena junction roundabout (RM-554, kilometre 0), and itinerary N-301, RM-554, A-30 motorway service road on the right-hand side, A-30 motorway flyover crossing on the left-hand side, exit at the Base 2000 petrol station, RM-B33, N-301, Molina de Segura and Juan Carlos I (Murcia).
The last one comes from the Altiplano, and starts with a rally in Yecla (at the door of the Cooperativa del Vino de Yecla la Purísima) to continue along Avenida de la Cruz Roja, N-344, entrance to Jumilla Avenida de Yecla and Camino de los franceses, in Jumilla, to continue along Avenida de Murcia, N-344, RM-401, N-301, A-30 motorway service road, right-hand side, exit to Base 2000 petrol station, RM-B33, N-301, Molina de Segura and Juan Carlos I (Murcia).
CALL FOR RESPONSIBILITY
The delegate of the Government in the Region, José Vélez, has appealed to the responsibility of all so that the right of demonstration of farmers is developed «with exemplary and normality» and the image of the Region of Murcia «is not compromised again, as has happened in recent episodes».
The tractors, as agreed at a meeting in which, in addition to Vélez, were present representatives of UPA, COAG, ASAJA, National Police, Traffic Grouping of the Civil Guard, Local Police of Murcia and Provincial Traffic Headquarters, will always circulate on interurban roads.
In addition, already inside the city, the National Police will reinforce the device with aerial means and agents of the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the Operational Response Group (GOR), in order to ensure both public safety and the right to demonstrate of the organizers.
