The great family of ‘Sabores Almería’ has lived its second gala in the Auditorio Ciudad de Vera, a great event that has served to celebrate the excellence of the gourmet brand of the province and the union of the sector in a night where the ambassador David Bisbal wrapped the great protagonists of this project: producers, hoteliers and marketers of gastronomic quality with Almeria seal.
The event was a heartfelt recognition from the Almeria Provincial Council to all the companies and entrepreneurs who, with their effort, work and creativity, have made ‘Sabores Almeria’ one of the most valued and popular gastronomic brands in Spain, and increasingly important in the international market.
The 68 new companies that have become part of ‘Sabores Almería’, which currently has more than 110 member companies, received their certificate and quality label from David Bisbal and the president of the Almeria Provincial Council, Javier A. García. The gala was presented by Antonio Hidalgo and the audience enjoyed live musical performances by Los Happys and Juanjo García from Almería.
The president of Almeria Provincial Council congratulated all the companies that make up ‘Sabores Almería’ saying that “you are the engine that gives meaning to everything we do. The soul, the heart and the strength of ‘Sabores Almería’ lies in each and every one of you. To see the success of this project, to have seen it born from nothing and that today it is one of the main gourmet brands in Spain, should make us feel very proud of everything we have built together”.
In addition, Javier A. García has advanced the strategy that ‘Sabores Almería’ is going to carry out throughout 2022 so that the brand continues to grow: “Sabores Almería’ will have a leading role in the main gastronomic fairs and forums in Spain. We are going to promote the internationalisation of the brand and this year we will participate in SIAL, Paris, one of the most important events for world gastronomy”.
Finally, the president thanked David Bisbal for his “unconditional support”, and reminded him that, thanks to him, “Sabores Almería is recognised all over the world”. The president said goodbye by reiterating the Almeria Provincial Council’s commitment “to each and every one of you so that you continue to be one of the main reasons we are proud to be from Almeria”.
For his part, David Bisbal has congratulated all the companies of the brand and acknowledged that “we have to show our chest and shout out loud that we have the highest gastronomic excellence in ‘Sabores Almería’. You represent the values of our land, sacrifice and work with innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit that characterises us”.
Afterwards, the singer alluded to the more emotional side of ‘Sabores Almería’, recalling that when he travels around the world he is always asked about the products of Almería and that the gourmet brand of Almeria Provincial Council allows him to stay connected with his land and the people he loves when he spends long periods away from home. “You will always have my support because I know that when I represent ‘Sabores Almería’ I am defending the work of the people of Almería who have made my land great,” said Bisbal on stage.
The hosts
The Mayor of Vera, José Carmelo Jorge Blanco, has shown his great satisfaction and gratitude to the provincial institution “for choosing Vera as the setting for this second edition of the Gala ‘Sabores Almería’ and has congratulated the 68 new entrepreneurs who join the gourmet brand, “because thanks to you who generate employment, wealth and welfare, Almería is a prosperous and constantly growing land”.
Jorge Blanco has indicated that “the strength of this sector has an ally in the east, where Vera is a gastronomic reference at provincial and national level. Vera is a gastronomic destination par excellence. We have a range of restaurants at the highest level, with renowned chefs, ambassadors of Almeria’s cuisine, with some of the best restaurants in the province that have been part of this great project from the beginning. Thus, in 2019 Terraza Carmona was the first restaurant in Almería to join the quality brand “Sabores Almería””.
The mayor of Vera thanked David Bisbal for his presence in Vera and indicated that proof of the affection that the people of Vera have for him are the hundreds of calls and messages that the council has received during these days from people who wanted to access the auditorium to see the ambassador of ‘Sabores Almería’ up close in the Auditorio Ciudad de Vera.
During the gala also participated one of the entrepreneurs who has become part of ‘Sabores Almería’, Juan Cruz, of Far West Beers, shared with the audience his experience with the Host Plan ‘Diego García’, promoted by the Almeria Provincial Council with productive aid to promote the consumption of Almeria products and ‘Sabores Almería’ in the establishments of the province.
Cruz praised the Plan which, as he explained, has allowed them to strengthen their brand, consolidate their growth, open new marketing channels and establish synergies with catering businesses in the province which, perhaps, would not have happened without the intermediation of Hosts.
In October 2016 ‘Sabores Almería’ took its first steps. After this time, the brand has boosted the province’s agri-food, catering and marketing companies through this project that gives them greater visibility, the possibility of participating in major national and international gastronomic forums under the umbrella of the Almeria Provincial Council and the guarantee of belonging to a gastronomic seal of maximum and recognised quality.
