The Guardia Civil of Almeria, in a recent investigation, has arrested in Huércal-Overa two people, both men, as perpetrators of three crimes against property and different judicial and police requisitions, and has also recovered 123 mobile phones, 8 tablets, 1 laptop and numerous tools used for the commission of the crimes.
This investigation is part of the activities carried out by the Guardia Civil of Almeria in the fight, prevention and prosecution of crimes against property in the province.
The Guardia Civil has knowledge through the Local Police of Huércal-Overa, that in the hamlet of Santa María de Nieva, several people leave a parked vehicle that had been stolen in the municipality of Huércal-Overa.
During the corresponding visual inspection, numerous tools were found (crowbars, sledgehammers, shears, etc…) which could have been used to commit robberies with force.
The Guardia Civil of Almeria with the collaboration of the Local Police of Huercal-Overa, during the same night organised an operative device, consisting of the fencing and control of access to the district and around the stolen vehicle, the agents observed, at night time, a taxi that was intercepted in the industrial estate of Huercal Overa.
The taxi driver and two customers were travelling in the taxi, wearing gloves, carrying a screwdriver and a device that could be used to steal vehicles. They are identified and after checking their details with the Guardia Civil databases, it can be seen that they have several police requisitions to search, arrest and appear in Seville, Cadiz, Huelva and Jaen, as well as judicial requirements in Seville and Cadiz to find out their address and whereabouts.
Continuing with the investigation, the Guardia Civil agents carried out the necessary steps to find out that the detainees were staying in rural accommodation close to the place where the stolen vehicle was located and during their inspection and search 123 mobile phones, 8 tablets, 1 laptop, most of which belonged to the loot from two robberies committed in the towns of Vera and Puerto Lumbreras and numerous tools used to commit the robberies, were recovered.
As a final result of this operation, the Guardia Civil of Almeria arrested in Huercal-Overa two people, both men, as perpetrators of a crime of vehicle theft, a crime of burglary inside a shop in the town of Vera and a crime of burglary inside a shop in the town of Puerto Lumbreras, as well as having numerous search, summons, address enquiry and arrest warrants.
