The ‘Marble Music Fest’ held in a marble quarry in Macael last year with David Bisbal and Loquillo, is among the nominees for the prestigious ‘Iberian Festival Awards 2022’ in Lisbon.
Specifically, David Bisbal’s performance has been nominated in the category of Best Live Performance. Selected among the best performances in the category ‘Best Live Perfomance’.
The Macael Festival was organised in the summer of 2021 to support the candidacy of the Macael Marble Quarrying as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The Macael festival and the singer from Almeria share the nomination with artists and festivals such as Amaral in the Festival Gigante.
The Macael Town Council congratulates itself for this nomination «we are a very young festival and we are very proud to be nominated among the best in Spain and Portugal. We are still small, because we have only had one edition, but I am convinced that as has happened with other great festivals on the national scene, we will grow with the celebration of new editions,» says the mayor, Raúl Martínez.
According to the mayor himself in La Comarca Noticias, the town hall is already negotiating the line-up for this summer’s edition. And they are trying to negotiate with «top level artists» said Martínez, «such as C. Tangana or Dani Martín». For now they have been ruled out because «C. Tangana is only going to give six concerts and he has already booked them, and Dani Martín will only play in capitals. We are still working, and we are sure that the line-up will be up to the standard of our festival», concludes the mayor.
