This Saturday’s match between Cantoria 2017 and Maracena at the Campo Municipal Los Olivos ended in a 1-3 win for the visitors, all goals scored in the second half and in front of a good crowd despite the weather and the Andalusia Day long weekend.
The home side had a good first half, where they had some chances to take the lead but failed to score, despite dominating the game.
In the second half the excitement arrived. On 7 minutes, after a corner and a series of rebounds, Capel gave the home side the lead.
In the 18th minute, also from a corner kick, David López equalised.
Two minutes later Antonio Peso scored the second for Granada after a rebound from the Montellano goalkeeper.
Aya, in the 29th minute, scored the third and closed the final score.
On the hour Cantoria were able to reduce the deficit, but the Almanzora side, with no fuel, no ideas, no resources, ended up being defeated by the third placed team in Group Two of the Andalusian Senior Division of Honour. So far the sensations are no better than last season, despite the fact that the team has been reinforced in all areas. The spectre of relegation is just around the corner if coach David Cartagena fails to revive a team whose players are accused of lacking tension throughout the 90 minutes. At this stage of the season, for tension to exist there must first be committed players.
With 23 games played, the margin of reaction for Cantoria is getting smaller and smaller, if they don’t want to reach the end of the championship in trouble.
