This has been the result of the first solidarity collection that the Ukrainian neighbours of the Almanzora region carried out this Tuesday in the Plaza de Abastos in Albox.
«A greater response than expected», says Marta Bukhtyak, spokesperson for the group who are trying to help their fellow countrymen who are suffering from the invasion by Russia.
«We all have family in Ukraine. I can’t find the words to thank the local people for their collaboration», says Marta, who underlines that they have even received a van loaded with goods from Caniles (Granada).
The wave of solidarity is spreading in our region. The Town Hall of Olula del Río, from 8am to3pm, has also offered to receive the aid, as well as the parish of Olula and Fines, who will receive donors during the hours when catechesis and mass are held.
