Health advises to avoid physical activities due to African air intrusion

The Regional Ministry reminds that in case of breathing difficulties or cardiac discomfort, a health professional should be consulted.

The Ministry of Health recalls, before the intrusion of African air mass that affects the Region and especially this Tuesday, avoid physical activities and intense sports, both outdoors and indoors, especially for people with respiratory problems, with the expectation that normal levels of suspended particles are exceeded.

In case of breathing difficulties or cardiac discomfort (wheezing, palpitations), a health professional should be consulted, intense physical or sporting activity should be reduced and short outings should be prioritized, as well as those requiring less effort.

Travel on main roads and in the surrounding areas should be avoided during the periods when these concentrations tend to be highest (generally early in the morning and late in the afternoon, coinciding with peak traffic times).

Also, citizens are advised to keep informed of the state of the air in the Region, which can be consulted on the website of air quality of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment.
