The Guardia Civil dismantles three drug selling points in San Javier
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, as part of the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has developed in San Javier the operation ‘SLALON’, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group dedicated to the production, handling and sale of marijuana in the Mar Menor region.
During the operation, which is part of the ‘Miller’ service order, which the Benemérita has active, nationally, to develop the ‘Police response plan to the illegal cultivation and trafficking of marijuana and the benefits thereof’, the Civil Guard has arrested the four members of the criminal group, as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health, drug trafficking, and fraud of electricity and water, and usurpation of housing, as they cultivated and distributed cannabis through an illegally occupied home.
The proceedings began last year 2021, when the Guardia Civil opened an investigation aimed at verifying certain suspicions about a group of people who, apparently, were growing and distributing cannabis to a large number of consumers in San Javier.
The first steps of the operation led the Guardia Civil investigators to several houses in San Javier, two of them illegally occupied, used by a group of people as a residence and allegedly for the production of cannabis and the handling of this drug, as well as heroin and cocaine.
